Graphic Design
When I’m not writing copy, I love to design posters inspired by some of my favorite artists/songs! I’m self-taught, so I like to experiment with different techniques and see what I like!

Album Redesigns

Inspired by cheerful and playful beats, I redesigned The Cardigan’s “LIFE” album to encapsulate the feeling of listening to it for the first time. “Life” focuses on independence and living life to the fullest, a sharp contrast to the first album, “emmerdale”. The cover is abstract, consisting of people at different stages of their life enjoying themselves on a lush, green field. The backdrop is inspired by songs like “Carnival” and “Sunday Circus Song”, but also is meant to add to the dream-like environment.

“emmerdale” is an upbeat yet meloncholic album that draws listeners in with it’s pop-rock sound, then poisons their with its tragic lyrics. At surface level, their songs sound fun but as you disect the lyrics, you’ll find themes of jealousy, betrayal, isolation, and yearning. These themes are all disguised over pop guitars and Nina Persson’s smooth falsetto, distracting first time listeners from the true meaning of the songs. Because of this, I chose to change the cover to a picture of lilly-of-the-valley flowers. These delicate flowers look gorgeous from afar, but are highly poisonous when consumed a clear representation of “emmerdale”. I stuck with the color palette of the original album cover, and kept the back simple.
